Please use this page to keep you informed and to help you access all the resources that you may need for my class.
Policies - Students Please Read!
Absences - You are responsible for the work you missed during an absence. You have 7 days from the day you return to get the work in. Check the Absent Organizer, Jupiter Ed, or Homework Online Page on the CLMS website for support. You can also check in with me before school or after school. If you plan on stopping by after school, please let me know one day in advance. I want to make sure that I can meet with you.If your absence was longer than two days, please meet with me so that we can make a plan.
Read 180 students - You will have to come in in the morning or at lunch to make up reading station and or computer station assignments.
Absences for Vacations or Extracurricular Activities- If you plan to be out for five days or more for family vacations or other activities, please make sure to contact the office for an independent study contract. Please understand that I take great pride in breaking down assignments and modeling expectations for each assignment. This can not be put on a handout; therefore, you may be at a disadvantage when completing independent study.
Late Work - I do not accept late work. Late work will only overwhelm you because they have to make up work and stay on top of current work. Many times the assignment is rushed and learning does not occur because the student is simply concerned with getting it done and getting it in.
Green Sheets - Green sheets are weekly progress reports and communication sheets. On this sheet, I like to highlight different policies so that students do not forget them. Often, I may address different concerns. These will go home on Friday and are due every Tuesday. Because of the nature of the assignment, I will not accept these if they are late. Please plan ahead. You have four days to get it signed. if parents are out of town, please have a guardian who is authorized to sign for you parents sign it.
JupiterEd - My expectation is that students stay informed always. Make it a habit to check JupiterEd every day. See what's missing. If you 100% know you turned it in and you see a zero, check the no name section of the Absent Corner Organizer. If you want to know why you earned the grade that you did, I often include comments on graded assignments. I can't do this for every assignment, but I try to for many assignments especially if there is something I want to highlight or I need you to work on. Additionally, I often send you messages when I need to see you or if I think it is a good for you to get some tutoring support with me. Please use your student account and not parent account.
