1. Monday's DLR for Week 28
2. Freewrite #3 Obj: Explain, in a freewrite format, why lying is justified. Provide examples to support your position.  This must be a 1/2 page long.
3. Students read "Rejecting All Lies: Immanuel Kant-Article #2
4. In their journals, under Kant's Position on Lying section, students made a T-chart. To the left, in 2 sentences, students wrote down Kant's position on lying. To the right, students gave 2 pieces of evidence to support Kant's position. Evidence needed to be direct quotes.
5. Students began working on #3 and #5 for Activity #3 in When Is Lying Ok? packet

1. DLR Quiz #27
2. Students reread "It's the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying". Then, they looked at the real-life situations, numbers 2 to 5, and scored them depending upon whether or not they felt if the lying in the situation was justified. Additionally, they listed 3 reasons, direct quotes, that correspond to the score that they gave to each scenario for each one.

2. McLaren's Bird watching Guide reading comprehension
3. Students made Prediction Chart #1 in their journals.  By looking at page 6 of "When Is Lying Ok?", students predicted what each of the 4 articles that they will read are going to be about.
4. Students (per. 1) began reading "It's the Truth: Americans Conflicted About Lying"-Article 1. For periods 3 and 5, they finished reading this article.  Additionally, they filled out Art #1 (B) section of Exploring Key Concepts-When Is Lying Justified Chart for number 1 as guided practice.  Teacher discussed their findings with them.

2. Students read "The U.S. Political Campaign Lies, Lies, Lies" Then, they wrote a loose definition of the 3 types of lies.  Also, they provided an example for each.

2. Shakespeare Is For Everyone reading comprehension
3. Persuasive Paragraph #2 Obj: Tell me how lying makes you feel. Provide reasons and/or evidence for why you feel the way you do.
4. Students will write down 3, loose, definitions on the types of lying.

1. Monday's DLR for Week 27
2. Students wrote 2 lies and 1 truthful statement about themselves.  Then, they shared these items about themselves.
3. Students wrote a paragraph about how lying, to their partner, made them feel.
4. In the "When Is Lying Ok?", students filled out the My Viewpoint (A) section on pages 2 and 3.
