Everybody Else:
1. Students watched Monday, Apr. 30th, 2018 edition of CNN 10 https://www.cnn.com/cnn10
2. Students finished their postcards.
3. Students made a chart with the following 4 columns: White Southerners, African Americans in the South, African Americans in the North, and Immigrants in the North. For full credit, students had to write down 3 full sentences, in each section, that describes what life was like for a particular social group.  The title of this assignment is Social Groups in N and S chart. Students needed to read pages 264 to 266.  For extra credit, students could write up to 5 things in each section if they'd like. (per. 2 was the only class that started this)

2. Students finished Cornell Notes #5
3. Students created a postcard where they were from the North or the South. They were asked to pretend as if they visited the an area that was the opposite of where they are from.  Postcards need to contain the following: a stamp, an image related to the area they visited, and 5-6 sentences. The 5-6 sentences must describe what life was like in the place that they visited.
Independent Study Students:

2. Take the quiz found on #1

3. Students started working on Cornell Notes #5. The E.Q. is What was the economy of the South based on?  5 Key words or ideas are needed to go with this question.  Then, you must summarize your findings in 5 to 6 sentences.  Independent Study Students do not need to do the Collab piece; everybody else has too.

Students reported, by writing down the 5W's on the stories on the positive athlete and the story involving the leader of North Korea.
2. Students read pages 254 to 255 in their textbook.
3. Students made a section in their Table of Contents section titled Venn Diagram on North and the South. Students had to write at least 3 items in each part of the Venn Diagram.

2. Students summarized, in 5 to 6 sentences, a tall tale told by a mountain man by reading one on the following websitehttp://www.mman.us/wildtales.htm
3.Students needed to pretend they are a mountain person. In a 1/2 to 1 page, they need to write about one of their adventures. The more exaggerated, the better. This may be in free write format. Try to include elements of things that could actually happen as well.

2. Write a 6 to 8 sentence opinion paragraph on whether or not you would have wanted to be a mountain person.  Give reasons for your opinion.  This is not a freewrite.  It is a structured paragraph.

2. Some students finished their summary of Lewis and Clark expedition.
3. Students listened to a parody of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
4. Students began working on Document B on page 86. Students were responsible for telling me two ways that Catherine Sager Pringle was affected by pioneer life. Each way needed to be supported by evidence from the text. This is a total of 4 sentences.
Independent Study Students:
1. See #2 above.
2. Read page 220 to 222. Stop at The Mormons section. Make a top 5 list of things that were difficult for pioneer women.
