The following announcement (also sent via ParentSquare) is for parents of students at Canyon Lake Middle School, Elsinore Middle School, and Luiseño School regarding AVID transfer options for incoming TCHS 9th graders.

An important message from the Lake Elsinore Unified School District and Temescal Canyon High School.

If your student is scheduled to attend Temescal Canyon High School as a 9th grader next year and was planning to take AVID as a class, you should know that Temescal Canyon HS will no longer be offering the class.

For this reason, we have opened a window for you to request an Intra-District Transfer to either Lakeside High or Elsinore High, both AVID National Demonstration Schools, to pursue AVID.

• You may obtain an AVID Intra-District Transfer application form directly from your child’s middle school counseling office.
• Please return your AVID Intra-District Transfer application to your middle school counseling office on or before the deadline of Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Sorry, we cannot accept late applications received after the deadline.

Should you have any questions concerning your child’s high school course selection, please contact your child’s middle school counselor.
