At CLMS, Character Education is a huge focus! We began the school year with instruction on character education and throughout the year we will emphasize the six pillars of character education during assemblies and events. We have six student recognition assemblies that will feature a trait of the month. (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship) Your student will receive instruction in their classes regarding the featured trait on assembly days.
Below is a brief description of each pillar.
Trustworthiness - Honesty, integrity and reliable, think "True Blue"
Respect - Treat others with respect, follow the "Golden Rule", tolerant of differences, good manners
Responsibility - Responsibility for actions, plan ahead, keep trying, think before you act
Fairness - Share and be fair, play by the rules, be open-minded, listen, dont take advantage of others
Caring - Kindness, compassion, gratitude, forgive others, help people in need
Citizenship - make school and community better, cooperate, get involved, be a good neighbor, obey laws and rules
