3. Freewrite #1-What is Young Wonders? List 2 people who are making a difference in young peoples' lives. Say how each of these people are making a difference in their community. Write a 1/3 to 1/2 of a page on this topic.

1. Q.O.D.-Read Eighth Amendment: Bail and Punishments section on 141. Explain what happens to you before, during, and after you are charged with a crime. Then, tell me what takes place to you before, during, and after your trial. This should be a minimum of 6 sentences.

1. Q.O.D.-Describe the 5th amendment. Focus on 5 rights that are given to you under this change to the Constitution.  Please write 5 to 7 sentences. Read 139 and a bit of 140.
2. Students watched a short clip on Miranda Rights.
3. Students watched a short clip on the 6th amendment. Teacher and/or students read about the 6th amendment on pages 140-141 of their textbooks.
4. Students worked on stanzas 3 and 4 for their Amendment Rap Song.

1.  Q.O.D.-Read part of page 138 and part of 139. Briefly describe the 2nd and 4th amendment. Please write at least 4-5 sentences.
2. Students watched a parody of The Bill of Rights.
3. Teacher discussed the 2nd amendment. Students saw a short clip on a Texas gun show.
4. Students worked on their Amendment Rap Song.

1. Q.O.D.-Read The Right to Worship section on page 135. Explain what this right entails. Please write 3 to 4 sentences.
2. Teacher and/or students read pages 136-137
3. Students made Advantages and Disadvantages of Free Speech Chart in their journals. Teacher and students had a discussion of these aspects discussed in line prior.
4. Teacher discussed expectations for the Amendment Rap Song. Students were numbered off and assigned a particular amendment to cover for their songs.

1. Q.O.D.-What are some of the rights that are guaranteed to you under The Bill of Rights? There isn't a specific page on this and we haven't covered it yet. Please use your imagination. Write 3 to 4 sentences.
2. Students watched the 12-11-17 edition of CNN 10.
3. Freewrite #6-Is plastic a problem to our world? What can be done to reduce the amount of plastic produced in this country and/or the world? Will this world ever be able to free itself from its' dependence to plastic? In a free write format, address the questions given in a 1/3 to 1/2 of a page.
4. Students began working on Compare and Contrast #3.

1. Q.O.D.-Read page 130. Why is it important to participate in your government once you turn 18? Give 2-3 reasons. Explain each of these reasons in detail. Please write 4-6 sentences.
2. Teacher and students discussed Freewrite #6.
3. Students watched a parody to The Constitution.
4. Students read pages 128-129. With that, they made a Venn Diagram on powers that belong to each state, national government, and powers that they both share.
5. Students started to create a compare and contrast paragraph on powers of each state versus the federal government. (per. 6 only)

1. Q.O.D.-What types of cases does the Supreme Court look at?  If a law is passed by both the Executive and Legislative branches of government, how can the Supreme Court affect the outcome of a law?
2. Students copied the Checks and Balances diagram on 126 in their journals.
3. Students watched a CNN 10 clip on whether or not the federal government has the right prohibit development on land for the purpose of creating national monuments.
4. Freewrite #5-Does the federal gov't have the right to protect land from development so that future generations will be able to enjoy it? Or does the each state have the right to decide, separately, what it does with its' land? In a freewrite format, address these questions for the length of a 1/3 to a 1/2 of a page.

2. Teacher went over the Preamble to the Constitution, line by line.
3. Students watched Schoolhouse Rock's "I'm Just a Bill". (per. 2/4)
4. Students took notes on how the president is elected and the powers of the president. Lastly, the took notes on how to remove the president.
