1. Q.O.D.-Why were the Americans in the South so effective against the British? What type of warfare did they use that was to their advantage? Please write 3 to 4 sentences.
2. Students read page 97. They saw a short clip of Cornwallis surrendering.
3.Students, in groups, made a top ten list of reasons why the British lost the Revolutionary War. Each group presented what they found.

2. Students read 94 to first half of 97 in their textbooks.
3. Some students did their speeches as George Washington. (per. 2 only).
4. Students watched two short clips on Saratoga,The Battle of Monmouth, and The Battle of Yorktown.

4. Students wrote down 5 things that were wrong with John Burgoyne's plan in their journal.
5. Some students performed their speeches.
6. Teacher showed students a political cartoon.

1. Q.O.D.-Read The Victory at Trenton section on page 92. Summarize the outcome of this battle. Write at least 4 sentences.
2. Students and/or teacher read the Winter at Valley Forge on pages 94-95.
3. Students watched Liberty Kids 124-Valley Forge.

1. Q.O.D.-Why was a pep talk before the battle at Trenton necessary? What types of conditions existed within the Continental Army?
2. Students finished their speeches as George Washington before the battle at Trenton.

1. Q.O.D.-What took place at The Battle of New York?  General Howe expected Washington to do what?  What did Washington do instead? See 91 if need be.
2. Teacher explained how he gives citizenship grades.

1. Q.O.D.-Name 1 strength and 1 weakness of the Americans/Colonists. Write 1 strength and 1 weakness of the British. Please write a minimum of 4 sentences. Read 88-89 for help.
2. Students finished Cornell Notes #2 (per. 2 only)
3. Students read 90-91.
4. Students completed Problem/Solution Chart #2 in their journals.
5. Students watched a short clip on a Lego reconstruction of the battle for New York.

1. Q.O.D.-What happened in July 4, 1776? Why did this spark fear in the colonists' hearts? Please read the Independence Day section on page 84 for the answer.
2. Students watched a short parody of the natural rights of man according to Jefferson which was essentially taken from John Locke's ideas.
3. Students worked on Cornell Notes #2 The E.Q. is What did Thomas Jefferson, as well as our founding fathers, believe the natural rights of man were?

1. Q.O.D.-What were some of the crimes that the colonists accused the king of? Do you agree or disagree with these accusations? Say 2 crimes and whether or not you agree wtih them. Please write at least 4 sentences.

1. Q.O.D.-What was "Common Sense"? How was it instrumental in showing colonists that war with England was necessary?  Provide at least 2 reasons, according to Paine, to show why he and so many others felt that war was imminent. Please write 4 to 5 sentences.
