2. Q.O.D.-See page 29. What were the natural rights of people according to Locke? Why did Locke say people form governments? Who gives these governments the power? How or why might this power be taken away? (4-5 sentences)
3. Students and teacher read pages 30-33. We stopped at the Freedom of the Press section.
4. Students saw a short clip on The Great Awakening
5. Teacher explained the Great Awakening Flyer assignment.
6. We looked a sample of a flyer.
7. Students finished Applying Reason to Politics questions. Basically, students made a T-chart with the questions one side and the answers on the other side. 1. What rights were included in Locke's definition of natural rights? (1 sentence) 2. How did Locke's idea of natural rights challenge the idea of divine right and the power of the monarch to grant rights to people? (2-3 sentences) and 3. How did the separation of powers protect the natural rights of people? (2-3 sentences).
