Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process for changing my child's schedule?
The process for requesting a schedule change may vary slightly depending on the reason for the change. Please keep in mind we do not accept requests to change a schedule for a different lunch. Lunches are determined by a student's fifth period class.

If there is an error in the schedule (e.g. student was accepted into a special program, elective, etc. and is not placed there) or a student would like to be removed from an advanced class due to level of difficulty please reach out to a counselor.

If you have a concern with a specific teacher, the first step is to reach out to that teacher. We want to ensure we are educating our students to problem solve and work well with a variety of backgrounds and personalities. If you have already had an in person conference with the teacher in question, please contact CLMS' administrators to let them know of the issue and to request options for a change.

If a student would like to be added to an advanced class or special program (e.g. AVID, Plus, Advanced Math, Dance, Advanced Art, etc.) after try outs or interviews have already occurred, they must reach out to the program director before reaching out to the counselor. Students cannot be placed into these courses without the program directors permission.

When is the transfer deadline for LEUSD's high schools?
The transfer window for high schools within LEUSD opens in early January and closes January 31st. More information on transfers may be found on LEUSD's main website: Transfer Information

In addition to completing a transfer application, it is important to consider programs at the high schools which may require separate applications. Each high school has CTE Pathways and Programs, such as engineering, health/medical, International Baccalaureate (IB). The deadline for these programs may vary and it is strongly advised you reach out to the program directors for each of these programs before January in order to ensure you complete everything in time.

More information on these programs may be found on the high schools' websites:
