1. Do day 1 for week 30 DLR.
2. Freewrite #5-The title is Friends with a Character. S.E. Hinton provides vivid descriptions of each major character in the book. In a 1/3 to 1/2 of a page, tell me which character you would like to have as a friend. Why would they make a good friend for you? Is there a character that you would avoid? See #3 on how to send it.
3. Read chp. 3 of The Outsiders. While you are reading, write 5 questions using 5 Sentence Stems for Student Generated Questions. These should be different from last week. See the Outsiders Packet #1. You can send this, or any other written assignment to me, by either taking a picture of it and sending it to me or through Office 365.
4. Do Reading Guide Questions-Chapter 3. See The Outsiders #1 for these.

3. Do The Outsiders Scavenger Hunt. See The Outsiders Student Packet#3. This is due today. This is basically a Scavenger Hunt. Go online and find the answers to the questions given.
4. Read chapter 2 of The Outsiders.

1. Do Day 1 Week 29 DLR. Your weekly DLR can be completed 2 ways. One, you can print it out, do the entire week, and then send me a picture of it. Two, you can type up your answers and email it to me if you'd like. To email it, go to Office 365. Remember, your User Name is your ID#@leusd.k12.ca.us ex. [email protected]. Your password is your 8 digit B-Day number. ex. 02152002. There are no spaces. I have included the answers for these as well. Please do the activity first before checking your week.
2. Watch the trailer for The Outsiders movie.
3. Read the "Have You Ever" poem. This is found in The Outsiders Packet #3
4. Do The Outsiders survey. This is found in The Outsiders Packet #3.
5. Read Chp. 1 of The Outsiders. While reading it, do 5 Sentence Stems for Student Generated Questions. See The Outsiders Students Packet #1. Basically, I want you to create 5 questions. Questions should begin with the Sentence Stems that are given to you.

2. Students ripped out "The Real McCoy" story from the consumable books. We will use this later.
3. Freewrite #4 Obj: In a 1/3 to 1/2 of a page, talk about when you or someone you know has/had experienced some form of racism. Focus on how the person was discriminated due to their religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.
