2. Students read "Slave" on pages 41 to 47 in the Bridges to Literature book. Then, they need to answer the Think It Through questions, 1 to 3, on page 47.

2. Use the vocabulary on page 348 of your textbook in sentences that show me you understand the meaning of these words.
3. Read pages 349 to 353 of "Rules of the Game".

4. Read 375 to 379 of "Still Me". Answer Thinking through the Literature questions on page 379.

1. Make a KWL chart. Fill out the K and W section. Write 3 complete sentences in each section. The topic is on careers that care for people.

Everybody Else:
1. Go to http://www.smarterbalanced.org/assessments/sample-questions/. Click on Browse Test Items. Click on same link twice. Go to the settings section. Change it to Grades 6-8. Click on ELA. Then, click on the Reading link.  Lastly, chose the Multi-Select type questions.  Do the 3 questions on the bottom for 8th Grade.

2. Students, along with the teacher's help, brainstormed possible similarities and differences between "The Prince and The Pauper" and "The Million Pound Bank Note" in the form of a Venn Diagram.

2. Students finished "The Million Pound Bank Note".
3. Students made a T-Chart. On one side, it says things money can buy and on the other side it says things money can't buy. Students had to write 5 things on each side.

2. Students handed in an argumentative paragraph on whether or not people have money deserve special privileges.
3. Some students contributed to Socratic Seminar #1 on the topic mentioned in #2.
