3. Some students practiced some fundamental skills that are necessary for those individuals in the 8th Grade.
4. Some students watched a report on CNN 10 on slavery that still exists in the world today.
5.Some students did Freewrite #5-Now that you know that slavery still exists in the world, is this something that the U.S. should try to prevent?  Or do we stay out of it all together?  In a freewrite format, write your feeling about this topic.  Please write a 1/3 to 1/2 of a page on this topic.

2. Students attempted to make Google Doc accounts (per.1)
3. Students began working on paragraph 1 for Expository Essay #2. Period 5 should have been able to complete paragraphs 1 and 2.
4. Teacher discussed students' Misfortune Chart. This chart serves as a baseline for the body of Expository Essay #2.

1. Thursday's DLR for Week 13
2. Students continued to work on text dependent questions from 11/15/17
3. Students worked on their Misfortune Chart in their journals. Basically, they had to give 3 reasons why they think a particular character is guilty for the majority of the misfortune that was caused to the Whites in "The Monkey's Paw". Additionally, they had to cite evidence for each of their reasons.

3. Students started on questions 3 and 4 for Text Dependent Question #3 assignment. 3. What is the "horrible fear" that Mr. White experiences on 688? 4. What is Mr. White's "third and last wish"?  Cite evidence to support your answer.
4. Students began reading Section 2 of "The Monkey's Paw" on 685-690.

2. Students finished Philosophical Chairs Activity #3 discussion.
3. Teacher pointed improper usage of transitions.
4. Students set up first half of Text Dependent Question #3 assignment. Two questions were copied down for this assignment. One, what does Mr. White mean by", If I should hardly think that he'd come tonight? Two, read the last 2 paragraphs of section 1. How does Herbert's attitude toward the paw shift after his experience with the fire?  Cite specific evidence in the text that indicates where the shift occurs.
5. Students read Section 1, pages 682-half of 685, of "The Monkey's Paw".
