4. Students finished the Consequences of War of 1812 activity that was started on Thursday.

1. Q.O.D.-Why did President Jefferson want Lewis and Clark to treat American Indians fairly on their journey? Please write 3-4 sentences.
2. We read 210-211 in the book.
3. Students saw a short clip on The Embargo Act
4. Obj: In a 6 sentence square storyboard, explain what took place during The Embargo Act. It must have the following: 1. 6 squares 2. words and pictures in each square. 3. An explanation of what took place during The Embargo Act 4. A title at the top of the cartoon strip. Students had about 10 minutes to do this. They will get 10 more minutes tomorrow.

4. We read Jefferson Protects U.S. Ships.
5. Then, we looked at how what happened with the pirates found in Tripoli is similar to modern day pirates near Somalia.
6. We looked at a political cartoon involving the Democratic nominees for president.

1. How did the Mandans along the Upper Missouri River help the expedition? 2. What was the signifigance of finding the Rocky Mountains on the expedition? 3. What difficulty did the Rocky Mountains pose and how was the problem resolved?
6. Teacher review the results, individually, of the last set of questions in SS.
