With this, students took notes on why Washington proposed that the U.S. remain neutral in foreign affairs.

1. Q.O.D.-Why might it be a bad idea to pick 1 political party to follow? Give 2-3 reasons why you think you don't need to be just a Republican or just a Democrat? Responses should be 3-5 sentences long.
2. We read first two paragraphs on page 183.
3. The class brainstormed why political parties are the biggest detriment to this country.
4. Students worked on Role Play Obj: In pairs, make a page to a page and a half role play. One of you will serve as G. Washington and the other person will serve as a reporter. Through a series of questions, G. Washington will relay his point that political parties are the greatest threat to this nation. Plan on performing this in front of class.

1. Teacher gave a simplified name or version of amendments 1 to 5 in the Bill of Rights Chart.
2. Teacher explained the Amendment Project. Students were assigned an amendment to work on.
3. Teacher explained the extra credit opportunity which is due next week and he mentioned the date of next weeks test.
4. Students worked on their Amendment Project.

Flash Cards or Quizlet on The Bill of Right

1. Students will begin 20 extra credit points if they create flashcards or a Quizlet for each of the 10 amendments found in The Bill of Rights in preparation for The Bill of Rights Test.

1. Students watched How a Bill Becomes a Law
2. Q.O.D.-What does the Legislative Branch of gov't do?  Name the two parts it is made of. Briefly describe how a bill becomes a law.
3. Students looked at two political comic strips.
4. Students made the title Executive, Legislative, and Judicial in their Table of Contents. Then, they made a chart with three columns which were numbered 1 to 5. Executive was the title of the first section, Legislative was the title of the second, and Judicial was the third. Students filled out the Legislative section.
5. Students watched a short clip on The Executive Branch of gov't.
