2. Students added question #4 to their Cause and Effect Chart #1 4. The strategy changed once they realized the second French fleet was not going to arrive in New York.

2. Q.O.D.-As much as Valley Forge was a time of hardship, it was also a positive time. Scan page 157 to find one positive aspect of the Continental Armies time spent there. Please write 2-3 sentences.

4. Students read pages 156-157 and did questions 2 and 3 in Cause and Effect Chart#1 found in their journals.

1. Q.O.D.-The Patriots were able to obtain a few allies in the Revolutionary War. Read the Gaining the Allies section on 154. Tell me who the two allies were. Also, provide textual evidence to support your answer. This should be 3-4 sentences long.
2. Students added two questions to the Citing Textual Evidence #1 assignment. 4. Washington faced many hardships at Valley Forge. 5. Martha Washington and other volunteers helped out at Valley Forge. Students were responsible for providing evidence that makes the two assumptions given true. It was necessary to read pages 154 to 156 for this assignment.
3. Students watched a Liberty Kids video on Baron Von Steuben's training that he provided to the soldiers at Valley Forge.

1. Q.O.D.-Benjamin Franklin was America's first diplomat (person that represents U.S. for the purpose of positive relations) Read The Story Begins section on 153. What is Franklin hoping to accomplish? How did the victory at Saratoga and General Burygone's capture possibly affect his mission? Please write 2-3 sentences.
