2. Students made the Conflict Chart in their journals and did #1. Please see instructions for this on post made on 03-20-19. With this, they had to read pages 309-311.
3. Persuasive Paragraph #1 Obj: In a 6 sentence paragraph, tell m 2 things that you are thankful for. Provide reasons for why you are thankful for these 2 items.

1. Wednesday's DLR for Week 15
2. Late reading comprehension
3. Students summarized scene 3 in their Diary of Anne Frank Sequence Chart #1. After they finished summarizing scene 3, they exchanged their papers. Each person wrote 2-3 comments, on the other person's paper, on either how the other person can make their summary better or how they feel the other person's summary is complete. If they received more negative than positive responses, it is advised that students edit their papers.
4. Students read pages 309-311 of "The Diary of Anne Frank".

3. Students read scene 3 of "The Diary of Anne Frank".
4. Teacher discussed the results of the last essay with some students.

2. Students completed Cumulative Review 1 worksheet.
3. Students finished summarizing scene 2 of "The Diary of Anne Frank".
4. Teacher explained the significance of The Star of David.
5. Obj: Think of a significant symbol. Draw it. Below it, write 4-6 sentences that explain its' meaning.

2. Students, with the teacher's help, read the rest of scene 2 of "The Diary of Anne Frank" on pages 288 to 292.
3. Students set up Diary of Anne Frank Sequence Chart #1 Act 1
4. Students began to summarize scene 2.

1. Thursday's DLR for Week 14
2. Teacher reviewed the results of the last essay with students individually.
3. Students read pages 283-287 of "The Diary of Anne Frank". Then, they work on completing Citing Text Evidence Chart #3. Today, I gave students two more questions. 2. Reread lines 196-207. What does the dialogue reveal about Mrs. Van Daan? 3. Reread lines 453-456. Why does Van Daan think that Peter might be afraid?

1. Wednesday's DLR for Week 14
2. Students watched a short introductory video on who Anne Frank was.
3. Teacher assigned parts to be read during the play.
4. Students made the Citing Text Evidence #3 Chart. Basically, there are 3 columns. The titles of the columns are Question, Evidence, and Answer. Answers should be 2-3 sentences long. Evidence will need to be about the same. Students copied down question #1 and completed the evidence/answer for it.
1. Reread lines 26-37 to identify Mr. Frank's thoughts and feelings. How do the white gloves affect Mr. Frank? What do the details reveal about him?
5. We read Scene 1 of "The Diary of Anne Frank".

1. Students did the sentences for Monday and Tuesday of Week 14's DLR.
2. Students typed up their essays which are due today at 5 p.m.

2. Colors in the Night Sky reading comprehension
3. Students completed paragraphs 2 and 3 of Expository Essay #1

2. Subject-Verb Agreement Worksheet
3. Teacher checked students' Scary Tales Evidence Chart.
4. Students worked on paragraph #1 for Persuasive Essay #1.

1. Tuesday's DLR for Week 13
2.  Lefties reading comprehension.
3. Students read pages 99 to 101, which is the story "Scary Tales".
4. Then, they completed the Scary Tales Evidence Chart. Basically, on the left side there are 3 reasons why it is or isn't okay to tell scary stories. This side is numbered from 1 to 3. Each of these should be 1-2 sentences long. On the right side, it says Evidence. This must come directly from the text. All of these must be 2-3 sentences long.

1. Monday's DLR for Week 13
2. Students took "The Monkey's Paw" quiz. If you were absent, you'll need to come in at lunch or break to make this up.
3. Obj: In an 8 sentence paragraph, show how "The Monkey's Paw" and "Tell Tale Heart" are both similar and different. Include at least one element of horror as a way to show how these stories are either the same or contrasting.

2. Students finished Foreshadowing Examples chart.
3. Students finished reading "The Monkey's Paw". Basically, they read from pages 112-116 in order to finish the story.
