Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope you all had a wonderful summer break. As we begin this new academic year, I am excited to share that this marks my 28th year as a teacher and my 22nd year at Canyon Lake Middle School (CLMS). I've been here since CLMS opened its doors in 2002, and it's been an incredible journey.
For those of you who are new to CLMS, a little background about me: I previously taught 6th-grade math and science here at CLMS for 17 years before transitioning to the computer teacher role in 2019. Since then, I have been teaching computer science, videography, and yearbook, and it has been a fulfilling experience.
On a personal note, I reside in Canyon Lake with my wife, Linda, and our two daughters, Ally and Tori. Both my daughters attended and were very involved here at CLMS, just like their parents. My oldest daughter, Ally, is now a senior at NAU (Northern Arizona University), where she is studying mathematics with the goal of becoming a high school math teacher. Meanwhile, my youngest daughter, Tori, is a sophomore also at NAU, studying health sciences. It brings me great joy to see both of them pursuing their passions at the same university.
My wife, Linda, has been working for Farmers Insurance for the past 32 years as a claims representative. She has been a supportive partner and a loving presence in our family's life.
When I'm not in the classroom, I indulge in various outdoor activities like motocross/desert riding, e-mountain biking, surfing, and water-skiing. Additionally, my wife and I recently acquired a condo in Mammoth Lakes, where we spend quality time snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and enjoying the beauty of nature.
As always, I am here to support you and your academic journey. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. You can contact me via email at [email protected] or by cell/text at (909)576-2025. While I do accept text messages and phone calls from both parents and students, I kindly request that text messages be limited to simple questions or concerns.
Let's make this school year a memorable and successful one together. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growth!
