Welcome to our classroom web site. I am excited that you found your way here. I will be using Canvas as well as my website as two of my primary communication tools. Here you will be able to locate most if not all of your child’s assignments as well any classroom lecture notes and presentations. I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students.

Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year!

I hope you had a fantastic summer and are ready for an exciting year ahead. I’m thrilled to welcome both new and returning students to what will be my 30th year of teaching—and my 24th year here at Canyon Lake Middle School (CLMS). I’m proud to say I’m one of just three original teachers who were here when CLMS first opened its doors in 2002. That means this year, CLMS turns 24!

For those of you new to CLMS, here’s a little about my teaching journey:
I spent 17 years teaching 6th-grade math and science before moving into the computer lab in 2019. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Computer Science, Videography (Cougar Connected), and Yearbook, and I absolutely love the creative and technical energy these classes bring.

A Little About My Family

I live here in Canyon Lake with my wife, Linda, and we’re proud parents of two amazing daughters—both former CLMS Cougars!

• Tori, our youngest, is entering her senior year at Northern Arizona University and will graduate this spring with a degree in Public Health.

• Ally, our oldest, is completing her student teaching this year on her way to becoming a high school math teacher—a path that makes her old math teacher dad pretty proud!

• And after 32½ years as a Farmers Insurance claim representative, my wife Linda will officially retire this year! A huge milestone for her and our family.

Outside the Classroom

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy being outdoors—motocross and desert riding, e-mountain biking, surfing, and water-skiing keep me busy. Our family also spends time up at our condo in Mammoth Lakes, where we snowboard, ski, hike, and recharge in the fresh mountain air.
